World water day | .Bihar Diwas | World Down Syndrome Day-Current Affair march

1.Bihar Diwas was celebrated on March 22nd across the state to commemorate the day when Bihar was carved out of the Bengal Presidency in the year 1912.March 22nd 2019 was the 107th foundation day of the state.

2.Japan has donated $69 million to the United Nations World Food Programme to provide vital aid to 28 countries in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.In the 1960 Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Conference.World Food Programme also aims to figerht micronutrient deficiencies, reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, and combat disease, including HIV. all over world .Zero percentage hunger in 2030.

3.Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M), Gyan Data (an IIT-M incubated company) together with experts from ESPNcricinfo have launched Superstats,a new metrics to analyse the game of cricket.Superstats will provide the viewers with a new experience wherein where match information, analysis and projection are backed with data science.

4.World water day in march 22 with theme is ‘Leaving no one behind’.The theme ‘Leaving no one behind’ underscores the motto of ‘water for all’ .Aims to ensure all including elderly, disabled, marginalized and poor people get access to clean drinking water and proper sanitation, as enshrined under Sustainable Development Goals.United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in Rio de Janeiro, the United Nations General Assembly designated 22 March World Water day by passing resolution in 1922.

5.World Poetry Day is observed every year on March 21st by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). World Poetry Day aims to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world.UNESCO decided to observe March 21st as World Poetry Day to give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movement.

6.March 21 was celebrated as World Down Syndrome Day. The theme of the 2019 World Down Syndrome Day is “Leave no one behind”.The genetic disorder has been named after British doctor John Langdon Down who fully described the syndrome in 1866.March 21st is the 21st day of third month. March 21st was chosen to signify uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndyndrome.

7.Telangana government will form a 'State Tiger Protection Force' to save Tiger population in State. State and Central government will share cost on 40:60 basis.

8.96 years old Karthiyani Amma from Kerala became Commonwealth Learning Goodwill Ambassador. She has been given this honour for becomimg oldest ever candidate to appear for Kerala Literacy Mission’s Akshara Laksham (Million Letters) literacy exam.

9. National Youth Day in India in jan 12, marking birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. It was declared by Government in 1984.Minister of State (I/C) for Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Rathore launched National Youth Parliament Festival 2019, as 2nd edition of same, with theme “Be The Voice of New India” and “Find solutions and contribute to policy”.

10.National Science Day in Feb 28. It marks discovery of Raman effect by Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. For this discovery, Sir C.V. Raman was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar launched STARS scheme (Scheme for Translational and Advanced Research in Science to fund Science projects). IISC will be the coordinator of the scheme.

1) Indian low-cost airlines SpiceJet has joined the International Air Transport Association (IATA). SpiceJet is the first Indian budget carrier to join the IATA, which has over 290 airlines as members.

2) Kazakhstan has renamed its capital Astana to Nursultan to honour outgoing leader Nursultan Nazarbayev. This announcement was made by the new president Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and was approved by the parliament of Kazakhstan.Nursultan Nazarbayev served nearly 30 years as leader of the oil-rich nation.

3) The Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India and IIT Madras signed a MoU with the Ministry of Higher Education Afghanistan Government to collaborate on Digital Education Initiatives.

4) Pune , Maharashtra is hosting the 10 days long Africa-India Joint Field Training Exercise AFINDEX-19 between the Indian Army and 16 African nations

5) ICICI Lombard and digital financial services company MobiKwik entered into a partnership to provide cyber insurance cover of Rs. 50000.The relationship aims to provide protection against unauthorised and fraudulent transactions online, across bank accounts, debit/credit cards and mobile wallets.

6) Lydian Nadhaswaram an 13 years old pianist from Chennai won the prize of $1 million (6.9 crore) for his performance on the American reality show ‘The World’s Best’. And also he made his debut on The Ellen Show.

8) The Ministry of Drinking Water & Sanitation has launched second project of Swajal Yojana at village Bhikampura, Karauli, Rajasthan.It was launched by Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation Uma Bharti.

9) The Union Government is going to roll out Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources Dhan (GOBAR-DHAN) scheme. It was first announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley during his 2018-19 budget speech.

10) India extended a financial grant of 35.5 million Nepalese rupees to Nepal for the construction of an educational campus to boost the learning environment of the students.The educational campus was jointly inaugurated by District Coordination Committee and Campus management committee.
