World Consumer Rights Day - Tourism Awards - Statehood Day -Education Day - Current Affairs On March

1) March 15 of every year is celebrated as World Consumer Rights Day. The theme of the World Consumer Rights Day 2019 is “Trusted Smart Products”.

2) World Kidney Day 2019 was observed on 14th March. The theme of the World Kidney Day 2019 is Kidney Health for Everyone Everywhere. And the theme denotes universal health coverage (UHC) for prevention and early treatment of kidney disease.

3) Vastradan Campaign initiated by the former royal family of Udaipur has set the Guinness World Record for the largest collection of clothes for donation. The campaign had collected more than 3 lakh items of clothing.

4) In 'TV Cinema Spot' Category at ITB (Internationale Tourismus-Borse), Berlin. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India has won the First Prize at prestigious international Golden City Gate Tourism Awards 2019.

5) The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has been renamed as the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

6) The first-ever International Day of Education was celebrated on 24 January 2019 as per the resolution passed by the United Nations General Assembly.

7) Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has launched its own payment aggregator system, IRCTC iPay. This is to promot the government’s Digital India initiative.

8) The states of Tripura, Manipur and Meghalaya celebrated their 47th Statehood Day on 21st January. These state became full-fledged states on January 21, 1972.

9) Suman Kumari becomes the first Hindu woman to have became a civil judge in Pakistan after passing an examination for induction of judicial officers.

10) Saudi Arabia has appointed Princess Reema bint Bandar, as its first female ambassador to the United States.
