1.Pramod Sawant is new chief minister of Goa following the demise of Manohar Parrikar. Pramod Sawant was elected as speaker after the 2017 polls. He was the youngest speaker from among all state legislative assemblies at that time.
2.Indian Writer Raghu Karnad has won the Windham-Campbell Prize in the non-fiction category for his debut book.Raghu Karnad is the second Indian to receive the award. Jerry Pinto had won the award for his novel, Em And The Big Hoom in 2016. Raghu Karnad is the son of legendary writer and the Jnanpith awarde Girish Karnad.
3.Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and France Space Agency CNES signed an agreement to set up a maritime surveillance centre in India. Training ISRO and CNES also agreed to jointly train Indian Scientists for the ‘Gaganyaan’ project at Toulouse Space Centre in France.

12.NASA’s OSIRIS-Rex mission discovers evidence of water, particle plumes on asteroid Bennu among numerous other findings.The Osiris-Rex mission is expected to return samples to Earth in 2023 and before attempting to obtain a sample from the asteroid, it will map out Bennu's surface in detail and orbit the asteroid to calculate its mass.
