1.The Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thaawarchand Gehlot launched the 2nd Edition of Indian Sign Language (ISL) Dictionary in New Delhi.The second edition dictionary includes total 6000 words.The ISL Dictionary is also available on ISLRTC’s YouTube channel.The aim of the dictionary is to help spread the use of ISL which could result in better education and employment opportunities for hearing impaired persons.
2.The Chief Minister of Assam Sarbananda Sonowal has announced a PRANAM Commission.the issues related to the Parents Responsibility and Norms for Accountability and Monitoring (PRANAM) Bill.The PRANAM Bill is an effort from the state government to protect elderly parents and unmarried differently abled siblings and give them financial security.
3.Government launched Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi(PM-KISAN) Yojana for augmenting income of farmers by providing income support to small and marginal farmer families.
Farmer familier having cultivartable land upto 2 hectares, will be provided direct income support of INR 6000 per year. PM Kisan Scheme,First Installment of Rs 2021 crores was directly sent into bank accounts of 1,010,6,880 (One Crore One Lakh Six Thousand Eight Hundred Eighty) Eligible Farmers.
4.UAE Emirate Abu Dhabi included Hindi as third official language used in its courts, alongside Arabic and English, as part of a move designed to improve access to justice.
5.The Union Minister of Human Resources and Development Prakash Javadekar launched the Scheme for Higher Education Youth in Apprenticeship and Skills (SHREYAS) programme to provide industry-specific apprenticeship opportunities to fresh graduates.These apprenticeship courses will be available to them from academic year April-May, 2019.SHREYAS is a major effort in the direction to make degree students more skilled, capable, employable and gainful employment.
6.The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has removed three banks, Dhanlaxmi .Bank, Allahabad Bank and Corporation Bank from the PCA framework by moving them out of its weakbank watchlist.
7.Educationist and Author Govind Prasad Sharma has been appointed as the Chairman of National Book Trust (NBT).National Book Trust (NBT) is an established by the Government Of India in the Year 1957 under the Department Of Higher Education, Ministry Of Human Resource Development.f Human Resource Developmentconducting literary events, activities for children, training in publishing throughout the country, participating in international book fairs to promote Indian literature.
8.Government launched Women Safety initiative of Emergency Response Support System (ERSS) in 16 States/UTs and Mumbai city. People in these states and UTs can now call a single pan India number 112 for any emergency. Investigation Tracking System for Sexual Offences (ITSSO) and Safe City Implementation Monitoring Portal were also launched.Home Minister Rajnath Singh also inaugurated a national cyber forensic lab and Cyber Prevention, Awareness & Detection Centre (CyPAD).
9.Gujarat government launched 2nd edition of water conservation scheme Sujalam Sufalam Jal Sanchay Abhiyan, which aims to deepen water bodies in state before monsoon to increase storage of rainwater to be used during times of scarcity.
